Paul Berggren, 585 Old Crystal Bay Rd S <br />- Variance - Resolution <br />Zoning District - RR-lB, 2 acre, unsewered <br />Application - Request for side setback variance to construct <br />attached enclosed porch 15' from the side lot line where a <br />30' side setback is normally required. <br />List of Exhibits <br />Exhibit A - Proposed Resolution <br />Exhibit B - Notice of Planning Commission Action 10/17/89 <br />Exhibit C - Memo & Exhibits of 10/3/89 <br />Discussion <br />Please review the memo and exhibits of October 3, 1989. <br />Applicant is proposing to construct a porch addition towards the <br />road at the northeast corner of the existing house. That house <br />is 15' from the side lot line, and the proposed addition would <br />also be 15' from the lot line. <br />Planning Commission at their meeting of October 16, 1989 <br />recommended approval on a vote of 7-0 finding that the side <br />setback variance will have no significant effect on density on <br />the neighborhood nor on the neighboring property, finding that <br />the nearest residence on that side is more than 100' from the <br />property line. Planning Commission also noted that the propo-..ed <br />addition continues the existing north line of the house and <br />extends no closer to the lot line than the existing housE. <br />Applicant noted that the septic system location, the location of <br />the driveway at the south end of the house, and the location of <br />the living room window, all are factors that lead to the <br />requested porch location. <br />Staff Recommendation - <br />Staff recommends approval per the Planning Commission <br />recommendation. A resclstion for approval is attached for <br />Council review. <br />
