See Engineering <br />Under Stair Protection <br />Enclosed space under <br />stairs that is accessed <br />by a door or access <br />panel shall have walls, <br />under-stair surface and <br />any soffits protected on <br />the enclosed side with <br />1/2" gypsum board <br />Unprotected portions <br />of floor shall not <br />exceed 80 Sq Ft. <br />Retaining walls over 4' <br />require engineering and <br />a separate permit. <br />Provide fire blocking <br />vertically at ceilings and <br />floors, and horizontally at <br />intervals not exceeding 10'. <br />Pool is not part of this permit. A <br />separate pool permit must be issued.
