TO: Dick Benson, Acting Administrator
FROM: Mike Scheller, Building Inspector
DATE: August 6, 1974
SUBJECT: Variance - Building Permit - Les Raskob - AW Dakota Ave.
Les Raskob has made application to construct a residence at 860
Dakota Avenue, legally described as Lot 6, Johnson's Rearrangement
of Albees. The present and proposed zoning for the area is two
acres, 200' lot width with side setbacks of 30' and front and rear
of 50'.
The lot s 3/4 acr approximately and has a width of 100' at the
building ne. s subdivision is all built on single lots except Lots
9 & 10 comb ned and there are three lots still vacant, Lots 5-6-7. Mr.
Raskobs contention is that to purchase two lots for one residence would
raise the land value so high that it would force him to build a residence
commensurate with the land value that would be out of context with
the modest homes in the area.
If there was a combination with either Lots 7 or 5, there would still be
a lot left not meeting requirements. If three were combined, the lot
value would come to over $20,000.
Pictures will be taken of the area.
voto
Rof
Go S
/2-1H- 7
lA'T AXER
