Co., MN.
Long 1-c K v
4/? S 16j'L1
This system is designed for a Type 1, four bedroom home and in accordance
with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency standards WPC 40 and local
ordinances.
The soils on this site are typical of SCS soils mapped - HbC - Hayden loam.
This site has had the upper layer of soil removed. The soils indicate
mottled soil at 24" to 48", (old mottling). With this being the wettest
season and the borings had no standing water, it is my opinion that the
water table is no longer present.
A shallow system will need to be installed 18" deep with a minimum of 6" of
cover over the rock. A pumping chamber will need to be installed and it
iL recommended that the system be put under pressure, distribution be
handled the same as a mound system. The supply line pipe must have back
drainage to the pumping chamber.
The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and pump-
ing chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be
installed with a light and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure.
(Mercury floats are a good method).
This site has an existing failing system. The tanks may be used upon
approval by the local inslector.
The soils at a depth of 1" have a percolation rate averaging 15.9 min/inch
and are adequate for trea ing septic effluent.
All neighboring wells are located more than 75' away from the proposed treat-
ment area. The well on this site is more than 50' away.
This system may need to have the water use lowered if the effluent raises
above the rock. The inspection pipe should be installed in the rock layer
above the distribution pipe.
Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and after
construction as much as possible. The treatment area should be marked off
before construction.
With proper installation and maintanance, this system should have no problem
in treating septic effluent effectively.
It is recommended that the
2 years.
Soil and Percolation Tests
Septic System Design
septic tanks be pumped every
Steven B.
