To: Mayor Grabek & Orono Council Members COUNCIL MEETING <br />City Administrator Bernhardson <br />Building & Zoning Administrator Mabusth SEP 2 51989 <br />From: Lyle Oman, Building Inspector CITY OF ORONO <br />Date: September 22, 1989 <br />Subject: 1949 Fagerness Point Road - Hazardous Building <br />Proceedings <br />Staff is requesting that the Council review the above <br />subject property for Hazardous Building Proceedings. After <br />receiving complaints regarding the unsafe condition of the <br />occupied building, staff conducted an inspection which revealed <br />that the building is in a damaged and deteriorated stat^_, is in <br />ar, unsafe condition and has structural deficiencies which <br />constitutes a define hazard. Major items of concern by staff are <br />as follows: <br />House - <br />1. Failing foundation and improper beam support. <br />2. Leaking roof causing extensive water damage. <br />3. Improper electrical wiring. <br />4. Improperly installed wood stove. <br />Garage - <br />1. Garage has been damaged by fire. <br />2. Rotted walls and a collapsing roof. <br />There are four options that can be taken• <br />1. Table proceedings. <br />2. Adopt resolution as written. <br />3. Adopt resolution with amendments. <br />4. Deny resolution. <br />Staff recommends adopting resolution as is and commencing <br />with Hazardous Building Proceedings. <br />
