J <br />Did �.,�-�- <br />City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUWIL <br />of <br />JON <br />A RZSJLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE TO WNICIPAL <br />ZONING CODE SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISIONS 1 i 2 <br />AND SECTION 10.44, SUBDIVISION 8 - PILE 1932 <br />WHEREAS, Ward E. Edwards (hereinafter 'the applicant') is <br />owner of thu property located at 2474 Carman Street within the City of <br />Orono (hereinafter 'City') and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 11, Block 6, Townsite of Langdon Park (hereinafter *the <br />property'); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for a variance <br />to Municipal Zoning Code Sections 10.22, Subdivision 1 and 10.55 <br />Subdivision 8 to allow the construction of a new home located partially <br />within the 0-7:;' la'eshore setback area where no structures are <br />allowed, and requesting a variance to Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 to <br />allow a total of 2,960 square feet of hardcover or 15.6% in the 0-75' <br />setback zone at the building site, where no hardcover is allowed and to <br />allow 3,390 square feet of hardcover or 30.0% in the 75-250' lakeshore <br />setback zone at the building site, where only 25• hardcover is normally <br />allowed, and is requesting a variance to the average lakeshcre setback <br />from the lagoon or north side of the building site. <br />HUM, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as zoning file i932. <br />2. The portion of the property to be used as a building site is <br />located in the LR-1B Single Family Lakeshore Residential <br />Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on <br />June 17, 1985, and rt.:ommended approval of the proposed <br />variance based upon r,,.e following findings: <br />A) No permanent crediting of the land north of the lagoon <br />is required. <br />B) No lot width variance is required since the 125' lot width <br />meets 80% or more of the 140' requirement. <br />C) A number of methods can be used in determining the actual <br />percentages of hardcover on the property <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
