T <br />00 <br />N <br />§ 5.32.290 <br />ORONO CODE <br />vehicles to be parked on such lots and ramps, <br />hours of parking, and prescribed method of <br />parking, provided that such limitations and <br />restrictions are marked or signposted on such <br />lots and ramps. It is unlawful to drive in a <br />direction opposite the flow of traffic marked by <br />one-way signs or arrows, or to park or leave <br />standing, any vehicle in any city -owned parking <br />lot or ramp contrary to the restrictions or limita- <br />tions marked or signposted in such lots and <br />ramps. <br />(Code 1984, § 8.24; Code 2003, § 66-84) <br />Sec. 5.32.300. Physically handicapped <br />parking. <br />(a) Statutory parking privileges for the physi- <br />cally handicapped shall be strictly observed and <br />enforced. Police officers are authorized to tag <br />vehicles on either private or public property in <br />violation of such statutory privileges. <br />(b) It is unlawful for any person, whether or <br />not physically handicapped, to stop, park or <br />leave standing a motor vehicle in a signposted <br />fire lane at any time, or in lanes where, and <br />during such hours as, parking is prohibited to <br />accommodate heavy traffic during morning and <br />afternoon rush hours. <br />(Code 1984, § 8.25; Code 2003, § 66-85) <br />State law reference —Parking for physically handicapped <br />persons, Minn. Stats. § 169.346. <br />Sec. 5.32.310. Vehicle repair on street. <br />It is unlawful for any person to service, repair, <br />assemble or dismantle any vehicle parked upon <br />a street, or attempt to do so, except to service <br />such vehicle with gasoline or oil or to provide <br />emergency repairs on the vehicle, but in no event <br />for more than eight hours. <br />(Code 1984, § 8.26; Code 2003, § 66-86) <br />Sec. 5.32.320. Parking for the purpose of <br />advertising or selling <br />merchandise. <br />It is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle <br />on any street or public parking lot for the <br />purpose of advertising such vehicle for sale, for <br />the purpose of advertising for sale or selling <br />merchandise, or advertising any merchandise for <br />sale or a forthcoming event. <br />(Code 1984, § 8.27; Code 2003, § 66-87) <br />Sec. 5.32.330. Unattended vehicle. <br />(a) It is unlawful for any person to leave a <br />motor vehicle unattended while the engine is <br />running. <br />(b) It is unlawful for any person to leave a <br />motor vehicle unattended with the key in the <br />ignition. <br />(Code 1984, § 8.40; Code 2003, § 66-88) <br />State law reference Brakes to be set on parked vehicles, <br />Minn. Parking on private property <br />without consent. <br />It is a misdemeanor to park or abandon a <br />motor vehicle on the property of another, or upon <br />an area developed as an off-street parking facil- <br />ity, without the consent of the owner, lessee or <br />person in charge of any such property or facility. <br />(Code 1984, § 8.42; Code 2003, § 66-89) <br />ARTICLE IV. BICYCLES* <br />Sec. 5.32.410. Traffic laws apply. <br />Every person riding a bicycle upon a roadway <br />or upon any path set aside for the exclusive use <br />of bicycles shall be granted all of the rights and <br />shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to <br />the driver of a vehicle by this chapter, except as <br />to special regulations in this chapter and except <br />as to those provisions of this chapter which by <br />their nature can have no application. <br />(Code 1984, § 7.20(1); Code 2003, § 66-121) <br />State law reference —Similar provisions, Minn.
