Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />In 1988, the City of Orono gave approval to Windward Marine to build a gazebo <br />building on the Brown’s Bay side of its property and a 4500 s.ft. building on the <br />Tannager Lake side. The construction of the gazebo is complete. The hard cover <br />was reduce an additional 1125 s. ft. by planting grass out to the property line. We <br />feel this new building is an asset to Windward Marine and to Orono. <br />We are making a request to change the location of the proposed building on the <br />Tannager Lake side. This change will reduce the hard cover area by 600 sq. ft. This <br />is accomplished by removing the concrete boat ramp and adding additional planting. <br />The reason for this change is to give more space around the new building and existing <br />house. By moving the new building away from the existing house, the building code <br />will allow more glass area and this will give a better looking building. This new <br />location will require a side yard setback variance of 5 feet on the south side. The <br />property on the south side is a small parcel of land owned by Minnetonka Boat <br />Works. This size of this property probably makes it unbuildable and therefore this <br />setback variance will have no effect on their use of this property. <br />It is our plans to began construction of this new building in the fall of 1989.
