RESOLUTION N0. 1005 <br /> � <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INTENT REGARDING PERMITTED <br /> DEVELOPMENT OF STUBBS BAY MARINA PROPERTY <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono has adopted <br /> Ordinance No. 219 establishing a Moratorium on development in the <br /> Stubbs Bay Area of the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a part of the study undertaken to accomplish <br /> the purpose of said Moratorium, the City has undertaken a special <br /> study of the past use and proposed development of property known <br /> as Stubbs Bay Marina ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has assembled reports and <br /> researched the Stubbs Bay Marina Property extensively over the past <br /> several years , particularly over the past weeks since the Moratorium <br /> was established, and the City Council has duly considered the recommen- <br /> dations of staff, consultants and the general public as documented in <br /> the record of a Public Hearing called for this purpose on <br /> February 27 , 1979 ; <br /> • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of <br /> the City of Oro no hereby determines that the subject property is not <br /> suitable for commercial marina use of the magnitude proposed by <br /> George Johnson in his request for 66 slips , and that the City Council <br /> intends to undertake the following action in response to this <br /> determination: <br /> 1. Adopt a comprehensive resolution setting forth the <br /> detailed reasons for making this determination. <br /> 2. Adopt appropriate amendments to the City' s Comprehensive <br /> Plan. � <br /> 3. Institute a rezoning review for the B-2 property to <br /> change the district from B-2 to either a limited marina <br /> use or to some form of residential use. <br /> 4. Deny the George Johnson 1979 Commercial Dock License <br /> application for this property. <br /> 5. Enforce removal of the existing hazardous docks <br /> attached to this property. <br /> 6.
