CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY,MINNESOTA <br /> ORDINANCE NO.314 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 78-823„ARTICLE V OF THE CITY CODE <br /> REGARDING GARAGE CONDO USE STANDARDS WITHIN THE INDUSTRIAL <br /> DISTRICT <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1. Orono City Code Title VI, Chapter 78,Article I, Section 78-823 is hereby <br /> amended by adding the underlined language and deleting the strikethrough language as follows: <br /> (11) Garage condos,provided that: <br /> a. No exterior parking or storage is permitted for a period longer than 24 hours. A <br /> parking plan must be provided to demonstrate accessibility to the site. <br /> b. The premises shall not be used or customized for residential living purposes or <br /> community gatherings or events. <br /> c. The premises shall not be used for the operation of a business or for retail <br /> purposes, including but not limited to automobile repair. This does not prohibit <br /> minor maintenance, care, or upkeep of motor vehicles, boats, trailers, or <br /> recreational vehicles stored in individual units. <br /> d. The management,use, and customization of the garage condos, including <br /> common areas;and individual units, shall be governed by an association, whieh <br /> association whose rules shall place adequate controls to ensure compliance with <br /> applicable city code. <br /> e. The premises shall maintain adequate access to individual units and any common <br /> areas or office space for emergency response and snow removal/storage. <br /> f. The premises shall contain sufficient lighting and/or security measures to deter or <br /> mitigate criminal activity and ensure adequate access for emergency response. <br /> g. Any individual unit that is connected to the city sewer and water system shall <br /> have individual meters. <br /> h. Off-street parking is required, as follows: <br /> i. A minimum of one(1) exterior parking stall shall be provided for each <br /> unit with a footprint less than or equal to 200 square feet. <br /> ii. A minimum of two (2) exterior parking stalls shall be provided for each <br /> unit with a footprint exceeding 200 square feet in size. <br />
