Shoreland Regulations <br />Orono: City Code Section 78-1282. -Driveways, stairways, lifts and landings. (a) A <br />driveway no wider than eight feet is permitted in the shoreland or tributary setback <br />zone if the property has no other frontage on or access to a public or private road. <br />2019 DNR Model Ordinance: <br />Placement and Design of Roads, Driveways, and Parking Areas. Public and private <br />roads and parking areas must be designed to take advanta e of natural vegetation <br />and topography to achieve maximum screening as viewed trom public waters and <br />comply with the following standards: <br />• 7.11 Roads, driveways, and parking areas must meet structure setbacks and must <br />not be placed within bluff and shore impact zones, when other reasonable and <br />feasible placement alternatives exist. If no alternatives exist, they may be placed <br />within these areas, and must be designed to minimize adverse impacts; <br />21 <br />
