SOIL TESTING SERVICES OF MINNESOTA, INC.
2405 ANNAPOLIS LANE SUITE 280
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA 55441 612-559-1900
April 29, 1977
Van Eeckhout Building Company
1055 East Wayzata Boulevard
Wayzata, Minnesota 55391
Attention: Mr. Jerry Finnamore STS Job No. 91002
Re: Soil Percolation Test, 190 Cygnet Place, Orono, Minnesota
De; Sir:
We were retained by you to perform soil percolation tests on the above
referenced property. Six (6) soil percolation test locations were
augered to a depth of 3.0 ft. sleep on April 20, 1977. Water was
noted seeping into these holes on completion, and was noted to rise
to a depth above 0.5 feet to 2.5 feet within the percolation test
hole locations after 24 hours. In addition, five borings which were dug
to depths of 8.5 feet below the natural ground surface were filled by
water to within 1.5 feet of the ground level 24 hours after the completion
of the boring.
The soil encountered consisted of a surficial layer of black organic clayey
topsoil overlying brown sandy clay to clay-iy sand.
On the basis of the ground water observed, the si`e would be unacceptable
for an individual soil absorption disposal system since the ground water
level ;s less than 6.5 feet below the ground surface or les:; than 4 feet
below the drainfield trench as proposed. An alternative system such as
a mound system may be applicable at this site. A drawing showing details
William C. Kwasny, P.E.
