NO. � <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br /> THE INSTALLATION 2 HOUR PARKING <br /> SIGNS NAVERRE MUNICIPAL LOT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal organization under the laws of the <br /> State of Minnesota; and . , <br /> WHEREAS,the City owns,operates,and maintains the Navarre Municipal Parking <br /> Lot to provide public parkin,g to serve the area business establishments,Navarre Playground Park, <br /> and Park and Ride parking for commuters. <br /> WHEREAS,the Park and Ride commuters generally park in the lot for long periods <br /> of time on workdays and the majority of these people park in the areas of the lot furthest from the <br /> business establishments and the Navarre Playground to allow use of the convenient parking places <br /> for short time parking by business and park users. <br /> � WHEREAS, recently there has been more long term parking in the parking spots <br /> closest to the Navarre Playground which diminishes the use of these parkiilg spots by park visitors. <br /> WHEREAS, The Orono Parks Commission discussed this issue at their May 3, <br /> 2004 meeting and approved a recommendation that the Orono City Council consider the installation <br /> "2 Hour Parking" signs in the Navarre Municipal Parking Lot for the 3 parking spaces on the north <br /> side of the lot adjacent to the Lyric Avenue parking lot entrance. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council does <br /> . hereby authorize and direct the Orono Public Works Department to install signs indicating"2 Hour <br /> Parking"in the Navarre Municipal Parking Lot for the 3 parking spaces on the north side of the lot <br /> adj acent to the Lyric Avenue parking lot entrance. <br /> � <br /> Approved by the Orono City Council at a regular Council meeting held on May 10, <br /> 2004. • <br /> ATTEST: <br /> i �-�..,<J �- (/�1L <br /> iLinda S.Vee, City Clerk Barbara A.
