From:
Karena Casev
To:
Adam Edwards; Maggie Jin
Cc:
Karena Casev; Lee Harren; Eric Evenson
Subject:
Letter of Support from Mayor of Greenwood for a Stubbs Bay LID
Date:
Wednesday, June 4, 2025 7:29:27 AM
Adam and Maggie,
Please make sure the full council and mayor has this letter of support for the LID. Thank you kindly!
—Karena Casey
Karena:
Based on my experience it could be counterproductive for the Mayor of another city to lobby another Mayor on
issues that pertain to the other Mayor's city.
That being said I can tell you that the St Albans Bay LID, which has been in existence for over 10 years, has been
extremely positive for the bay and noncontroversial. It has provided a stable property owner driven funding source
for the control of milfoil and curly leaf pondweed on St Albans Bay. Because everyone pays the assessments have
been relatively nominal with the LID even taking a year off from an assessment standpoint in 2024 because of the
size of its reserves. Expenses have been less than forecast because the invasives are not allowed to get out of hand
again with annual monitoring and treatment as needed in turn.
Feel free to call me with any questions.
Thank you,
Tom Fletcher
President
AEX Communications, Inc.
952-224-5500
Fletcher Management, Inc.
952-224-5555
4445 West 77th St Suite 102
Edina, MN 55435
303
