From: Bob Tunheim
To: Adam Edwards
Subject: Fwd: Re: Stubb"s Bay
Date: Monday, June 2, 2025 11:52:41 AM
Importance: High
---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: "Sandiford, Stanley" <ssandiford0l@hamline.edu>
Date: Jun 1, 2025 1:53 PM
Subject: Re: Stubb's Bay
To: Bob Tunheim<btunheim@oronomn.gov>,spersian@oronomn.gove,Jon Schwingler
<j schwingler@oronomn.gov>
Cc:
Dear City Leaders,
As I understand it, there will be a public hearing on June 9, 2025 at 6:00 pm., regarding the
creation of a Lake Improvement District ("LID") for Stubb's Bay. Unfortunately, I may not be
able to attend the hearing. Based on discussion with neighbors, it appears that there may be
some question about whether a LID, and individual Stubb's Bay residents, becomes legally
liable for the actions of the LID. Unless and until it is determined that Stubb's Bay residents
will have no legal liability or financial responsibility for such a LID, I oppose the creation of a
LID for Stubb's Bay. Further, I would defer to the DNR regarding treatments in Stubb's Bay
and the broader bodies of Lake Minnetonka regarding the management of weeds including any
responsibility for the addition of certain herbicides or chemicals to address the weeds or water
quality.
Regards,
Stan Sandiford
722 Tonkawa Road
289
