Owning dangerous dogs. <br />It is unlawful for the owner of any dog to own or keep a dog which is dangerous, i.e., any such dog which has <br />caused injury to persons or property. <br />(Ord. Warning of vicious dogs. <br />The owner of any dog known to be of vicious habits shall place in plain view of the entrance of the premises <br />a sign no smaller than 12 inches by 14 inches which shall read: "Beware of Vicious Dog" in letters at least two <br />inches in height. <br />(Ord. No. 137 2nd series, § 9.12(13), 7-24-1995) <br />Sec. 62-104. Running at large prohibited. <br />It is unlawful for the owner of any dog to permit such animal to run at large. Any dog shall be deemed to be <br />running at large with the permission of the owner unless: <br />(1) It is on a durable leash secured to an object which it cannot move and is on the premises of the owner. <br />(2) On a leash and under the control or within ten feet and under the effective command of the <br />accompanying person of suitable age and discretion. <br />(3) In the owners' fenced yard or other suitable enclosure where the dog cannot leave without human <br />assistance. <br />(4) In the owner's yard and under effective command of an accompanying person of suitable age and <br />discretion present outside in the yard. <br />(5) In a vehicle from which the dog cannot leave without human assistance provided it is not left <br />unattended in violation of law. <br />(6) In an area designated as an off leash area provided that the person having custody of the animal: is <br />present with the animal; has in his/her possession the required off leash permit; and is acting in <br />compliance with the rules and regulations of the off leash areas. <br />(Ord. Defecating on property of another prohibited. <br />It is unlawful for the owner of any dog to fail to prevent such dog from defecating in or upon public property <br />or the premises of another, or to permit solid waste of a dog to accumulate on its owner's premises for more than <br />24 hours. <br />(Ord.
