Date: May 12, 2025 Item: 4 <br />Presenter: Christine Lusian, City Clerk <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: Waste Hauler Licenses <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of this action item is to approve licenses for waste haulers. <br />2.License Applicant(s): <br />Orono is currently an open trash system (where residents select and hire their own licensed hauler) <br />and we coordinate organized collection of single-sort recycling (glass, paper, plastic, etc.) through <br />a contract with one hauler. <br /> <br />Our licensed haulers provide all waste collection services to residents (trash, recycling, yard <br />waste, compostable organics). City code requires a license to haul solid waste and the rates have to <br />be approved by the council before granting a license.
