• <br /> �A RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION TO <br /> INVESTIGATOR JAMES CORNICK <br /> RESOLUTION NO. � � I O <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono is supportive of all of its police <br /> officers, support staff, and supervisory staff in providing the highest quality police <br /> services; and <br /> . WHEREAS,much is expected of peace officers in today's society; <br /> and � <br /> WHEREAS, during the early moniing hours of July 18, 2004, <br /> Investigator Cornick was on duty when he investigated a house fire on West Aim <br /> Road in Spring Park; and ' <br /> WHEREAS, the investigation resulted in his imminent death by <br /> falling through a hazardous dock suffering personal injury and nearly drowning; <br /> and <br /> • WHEREAS, Investigator Cornick continued his investigation even <br /> after being rescued; and � <br /> W�iEREAS, Investigator Cornick consistently demonstrates his <br /> dedication to duty and the citizens served by the Orono Police Department. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orono City <br /> Council recognizes Investigator James Leroy Cornick, Jr. for his outstanding <br /> degree of devotion to duty on July 18, 2004, and expresses its gratitude for his <br /> willingness to protect life and property on behalf of us all. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of Orono,Minnesota at a regular meeting ' <br /> ' held this 9th day of August, 2004. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> ., � ����B,�u�.� <br /> inda S.
