COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOV 27 1989 <br />MINUTES OP THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD NOVEMBER 13, 1989 CITY OF ORONO <br />ATTENDANCE 7:00 P.M. <br />The Council met or the above date with the following members <br />present: Acting Mayer Callahan, CounciImembers Nettles, Goetten <br />and Peterson. Mayor Grabek was absent. The following <br />represented the City staff: City Administrator Bernhardson, <br />P*»"lding & Zoning Administrator Mabusth, Public Works Director <br />.nardson. Assistant Planning and Zoning Administrator Gaffron, <br />Police Chief Kilbo, City Attorney Barrett and City Recorder <br />Scheffler. <br />PRESENTATION TO LT. GARY C3ESWICK <br />Acting Mayor Callahan explained to Lieutenant Cheswick that <br />the Council had been asked to read a letter from a former Orono <br />resident, Ms. Judith Strom. Ms. Strom now works as an adolescent <br />chemical dependency counselor for Fairview Deaconess. Ms. Strom <br />dedicated a book she wr^te to Lieutenant Cheswick because he had <br />helped Ms. Strom when sh ' was having difficulty with one of her <br />children. <br />CONSENT AGENDA* <br />City Administrator Bernhardson requested that item #19 be <br />removed from the consent agenda. <br />It was requested by CounciImember Goetten that consent item <br />#26 be removed from the consent agenda. <br />CounciImember Peterson requested the removal of consent <br />items #20, 22. CounciImember Peterson also requested the <br />opportunity to discuss a letter involving Woodhill Country <br />Club's application for a liquor license for one of the Club's <br />facilities located in Orono. <br />It was moved by CounciImember Goetten, seconded by <br />CounciImember Peterson, to approve the Consent Agenda, with the <br />exception of items 19, 20, 22, and 26 which were removed from the <br />consent agenda and discussed in the order which they appear on <br />the agenda. Motion, Ayes=4, Nays=0, Motion passed. <br />APPPROVAL OP MINUTES* <br />It was moved by CounciImember Goetten, seconded by <br />Councilmember Peterson, to approve the Minutes of the October <br />23, 1989 Regular Council Meeting. Motion, Ayes=4, Nays=0, Motion <br />passed. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Planning Commission Representative, Maureen Bellows was <br />present and had no comments at this time. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />There were no comments from the Public.
