CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO.7580 <br />RESOLUTION TERMINATING THE EMPLOYMENT OF ORONO PAID ON CALL <br />FIREFIGHTERS <br />WHEREAS,the City of Orono currently employees Paid On Call (POC) Firefighters to provide <br />firefighting and emergency services to its citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council approved the First Amendment to the Contract and agreement for fire <br />services on February 14, 2025 which restricts the city’s rights to employ Paid On Call Firefighters; <br />THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council herby terminates the employment <br />of its Paid On Call Fire fighters effective April 30th, 2025. <br />FURTHER, the city will provide adequate funds to the Orono Relief association retirement <br />account to comply the automatic vesting provisions of state statute 424B.22. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on April 28th, 2025. <br />ATTEST:CITY OF ORONO <br />_____________________________________________________________________ <br />Christine Lusian, City Clerk Bob Tunheim, Mayor <br />140
