RESOLUTION N0. 831 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT FOR OPERATION OF A <br />SKI AREA BY SKI TCNKA, INC. <br />141EREAS, the owners of Ski Tonka desire to expand the existing Conditional Use <br />Permit for operation of a ski area at 4680 Bayside Road by opening four new tows and ski <br />runs on land east of the existing operation; and <br />WHEREAS, the owners of Ski Tonka, Inc. have submitted an application for a new <br />Conditional Use Permit to authorize said expansion; and <br />WHEREAS, after due published and posted notice, a public hearing was held on <br />September 19, 1977, before the Orono Planning Commission when all interested persons <br />were given an opportunity to be heard; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and Council have considered all aspects of <br />the application, comments and applicable ordinances; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Orono approves of the Condi- <br />tional Use Permit for expansion of Ski Tonka, Inc. subject to the following: <br />1. Addition of four (4) ski runs and tows identified as #7, #8, #9 and #10 <br />on tax plat 41331 parcel 2300. <br />2. No additional parking or access directly to the newly allowed tows, but <br />rather access within the existing ski area from the existing ski runs only. <br />• 3. All lighting on the new ski runs to be directed away from adjoining <br />residential property. <br />4. New ski runs meeting all provisions of Chapter 69A as amended prior to <br />use. <br />5. Subsequent year's licenses to include all existing and new ski runs on the <br />same license and application. <br />6. No additional expansion or rearrangement of ski runs, tow equipment, park- <br />ing, lighting or access without prior Council approval. <br />Adopted by the Orono Council this 26th day of September 1977 by a vote of 4 <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br />411iAliam.
