MAZEBUSTERS <br />The Mazebusters program begins <br />training 10 new Volunteers on July 18, <br />1989. Program funds are from the <br />McKnight Foundation Aid to Families in <br />Poverty. West Hennepin Human <br />Services sponsors the Mazebusters <br />program. <br />Mazebusters is a peer counseling <br />program. Participants receive training <br />as peer-counselors and information and <br />referral specialists. <br />After training participants volunteer in <br />community agencies. They volunteer four <br />hours per week. Mazebusters help other <br />low income people receive available <br />services. They receive a $500 voucher of <br />their choice at the end of their volunteer <br />service. <br />The program pays all related child care <br />and transportation costs. <br />Selections for new Mazebusters start <br />soon using the existing waiting list.
