0 cC <br />Dear <br />Thank you for your support for my re-appointment to the <br />Metro Waste control Commfssioa I was not re-appointed <br />because Mr. Dirk DeVries would not support my continued <br />service. He said he, "could not support me because of my vote <br />on the 1969 budget" But, he voted for two DFL Commissioners <br />to be re-appointed who voted as 1 did on the budget The staff <br />of the Metro Council supported the staging and budget proposed <br />by the Metro Waste Control Commissioa <br />1 had the full support of my fellow commissioners and <br />for that I thank them. I also greatly appreciate the support of <br />thirteen cities, ten senators including two DFL, twelve <br />representatives from my area and Hennepin County <br />Commissioner Tad Jude. My opposition had support from seven <br />cities, three counties, two senators and one representative. My <br />support was hardly "soft" as Mr. DeVries and Ms. Wv'itz have <br />said. <br />I did enjoy my four years of service to the Metro area, <br />and 1 hope to continue my public service as the 6th <br />Congressional District representative on the Minnesota Natural <br />Resources Trust Commissioa I was appointed to this position <br />by governor Rudy Perpich. <br />Thank you again for your support <br />/
