Excerpts from Current City Code <br />ISSUE - Determine whether Council wants to amend the <br />ordinance to incorporate changes in the Minnesota Liquor Statute <br />outlined in Attachment A. <br />DISCUSSION - In March of 1987 Council amended the ordinance <br />relating to intoxicating and non-intoxicating liquor licensing <br />and regulations to incorporate the issuance of an off-sale liquor <br />license after the sale of the municipal off-sale liquor store. <br />As noted in Attachemnt A changes in the Minnesota Liquor Statutes <br />allows, among other things, for an off-sale store to be open on <br />New Years Day and the 4th of July and extends the hours of Sunday <br />sale of intoxicating liquor to 1:00 A.M., Monday. <br />Chief Kilbo states he has no conflict with these changes. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is reccmmendec that Council <br />changes and table this item to the June 26, 1989 meeting. If the <br />Council desires to amend the current ordinance such change would <br />have to be published in the official newspaper the week of July <br />3, 1989 in ordei to allow off-sale liquor on July 4th of this <br />year. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by _, seconded by _, to table this item <br />until the June 26, 1989 meeting.
