Sttction 4 , Typts of Water Supolv. <br />Thm r««trictions in this ordinance shall, at the d^«cration of the <br />City Council, apply to the public water system, private wells, <br />lake or other surface water systems, or any combination thereof. <br />Section 5 . Restrictions, <br />During a water shortage the City Council may order one or any <br />combination of the following restrictions: <br />(1) a complete or partial ban on water use for watering <br />lawns, trees and shrubs, irrigation, car washing, <br />filling swimming pools, air conditioning, other uses <br />determined by the City to be non-essential, or any <br />combination thereof. <br />(2) an odd/even watering ban in which residents of <br />addresses ending in an even digit may water on <br />even-numbered calendar days and residents of <br />addresses ending in an odd digit may water on <br />odd-numbered calendar days; <br />(3) a limitation of water use for specified hours of the <br />day; <br />(4) a voluntary or involuntary restriction; <br />(5) a use restriction applicable to all or part of the <br />City or based on land use or property identification; <br />and <br />(6) any other appropriate restriction. <br />Newly seeded or sodded lawns shall be exempt from these provisions <br />for a period of 30 days after installation, although no new <br />seeding or sodding may begin after any applicable water use <br />restriction is instituted. <br />in f 1 “!-* public syst«n in Orono whlxopinion of th. Termination . <br />Any water use restrictions imposed by the Council during a water <br />shortage shall terminate by resolution of the City Council. <br />-2-
