Determine if any Orono CounciImember is interested <br />nomination to the Regional Transportation Board, <br />in a <br />2. Determine if the Council wants to undertake any endorsements <br />in advance of: <br />a. ) AMM Board's selection and/or <br />b. ) Metro Council selection <br />INTRODUCTION - Transmitted previously to you by both the City and <br />probably the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities was <br />Attachment A which outlines the new way in which Board Members <br />will be appointed to the Regional Transit Board, As noted a <br />response was due to AMM by June 21st for those who were <br />interested, <br />DISCUSSION - The AMM has been asked to submit a maximum of two <br />names for each Regional Transit District (which is composed of <br />two Metro Council Districts,) As noted in the attached map of <br />Attachment A, the Council nominee from this area will be from <br />Metro Council Districts 9 and 13, This district extends from <br />Eden Prairie and Shorewood on the south to St, Francis in Anoka <br />County on the north. <br />As of noon on June 21st the following individuals had submitted <br />their names to the AMM indicating their interest in appointment, <br />Jan Haugen, Mayor, Shorewood <br />Patricia Pidcock, CounciImember, Eden Prairie (No letter <br />had been received,) <br />The AMM nominations will be submitted to the Metro Council, who <br />will in turn select a Board member for each district, <br />(It should be noted that I am an AMM Board member and will be <br />voting on the matter at the AMM,) <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Determine if any Orono Councilmember is interested.
