v <br />• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 590 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br />Drainage Improvement Project No. 1975-1 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the council <br />on March 11, 1975, the city engineer has prepared plans and <br />specifications for the improvement of the drainage in the <br />ravine located near County Road No. 19, approximately 700 <br />feet east of the city's boundary lines by installing a 185 <br />foot pipe, a catch basin, and energy dissipater, and by <br />filling the eroded areas and thereafter sodding same and <br />has presented such plans and specifications to the council <br />for approval; <br />• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />ORONO, MINNESOTA: <br />1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. <br />2. The city clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted <br />in the official paper and in the Construction Bulletin an adver- <br />tisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such <br />approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be <br />published on one day a week for three weeks, shall specify the <br />work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the <br />clerk until 10:0.0 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 1975, at which time <br />they will be publicly opened in the council chambers of the <br />city hall by the city clerk and treasurer, will then be tabulated, <br />and will be considered by the council at 7:30 p.m. on May 27, <br />1975, in the council chambers, and that no bids will be con- <br />sidered unless sealed and filed with the clerk and accompanied <br />by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check <br />payable to the clerk for 5 percent of the amount of such bid. <br />The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to <br />waive any informalities in the bidding and to accept any bid <br />deemed to be in the.best interests of the city. No bid may <br />be withdrawn within sixty days of the date of bid opening. <br />• Adopted by -the city council this 8th day of April, <br />
