RESOLUTION #569 <br />• A RESOLUTION REGARDING NON -RETURNABLE CONTAINERS <br />WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters of Westonka is <br />seeking passage of a resolution to discourage the use of non- <br />returnable beverage containers. <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Orono, <br />Minnesota supports the concept of the League of Women Voters' <br />resolution regarding non -returnable containers as follows: <br />WHEREAS, non -returnable beer and soft drink containers <br />contribute to the rising cost of waste disposal, and <br />WHEREAS, such containers are highly consumptive of <br />energy resources and of steel and aluminum, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of <br />Orono encourage the Minnesota Legislature to adopt appropriate <br />legislation to establish a statewide policy regarding non -returnable <br />beverage containers. <br />Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota <br />at a regular meeting held January 28, 1975. <br />• <br />r� <br />Robert L.
