�"'�:--. dam• <br />0 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 566 <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING <br />COMPREHENSIVE MUNICIPAL PLAN. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 462 of the Minnesota Statutes <br />empowers the City of Orono to prepare and adopt a compre- <br />hensive municipal plan, and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has prepared the <br />Comprehensive municipal Plan which includes a compilation of <br />policy statements, goals, standards, and maps for guiding the <br />physical, social and economic development, both private and <br />public, of the municipality and its environs, and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and the City Coun- <br />cil reviewed the proposed Comprehensive Municipal Plan, and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hear- <br />ing thereon pursuant to legal notice on August 26, 1974 and <br />thereafter adopted and transmitted the plan to the City Council, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council submitted the proposed <br />plan to the Metropolitan Council for written comment and recom- <br />mendation on August 28, 1974, and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has submitted <br />their official comments and recommendations, <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council adopts the attached <br />Comprehensive Guide.Plan, including the references and source <br />materials incorporated herein, as the Comprehensive Municipal <br />Plan of the City. <br />FURTHERIMORE, WHEREAS, Chapter 462 of the Minnesota <br />Statutes empowers the City to enact a zoning ordinance and to <br />provide for its administration, enforcement and amendment, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary, for <br />the purpose of promoting health, safety, order, convenience, <br />prosperity and general welfare of the City to enact a zoning <br />ordinance to male different regulations for different districts <br />and to change use district boundaries in order, to carry out the <br />purposes of the Ccmprehensive Municipal Plan and the afcr_esai.d <br />Statute, <br />N011 THEITFORL, the City Council will taxe imjn:ediately <br />those steps necessari- to i.e-,.`Lew tiie proposed arlen"ments to the <br />present zonina ordinances, hold a public hc_-as:.irg thereon, and <br />thereafter enact such an ordinance. <br />
