• RESOLUTION NO. 560 <br />A RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING THAT L.M.C.D. <br />ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO MARINA REGULA- <br />TIONS SHOULD BE ENFORCED AND NO VARI- <br />ANCES SHOULD BE GRANTED <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has only allowed the <br />reasonable and necessary extension of commercial docks into the <br />waters of take Minnetonka to accomodate the docking and mooring <br />of such craft as customarily and lawfully may be used upon the <br />lake, and <br />WHEREAS, the unreasonable and unnecessary extension of <br />commercial docks interferes with, obstructs, tends to obstruct, <br />or renders dangerous for use or passage the body of water within <br />the limits of the City, and <br />WHEREAS, there still is the need to restrict the length <br />of cormLercial docks to eliminate the danger to the public health, <br />safety, and welfare. <br />• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Counci-1 <br />reaffirms that Ordinance No. 1 and the other ordinances of the <br />Lake Minnetonka Conservation District pertaining to marina <br />regulations should be enforced by the District and. that no vari- <br />ances from those ordinances should be granted, since suc-h vari- <br />ances could not possibly promote the public safety, health, and <br />welfare of the City. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at <br />a regular meeting held September 24, 1974. <br />Robert Searles, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />4�a r enscr <br />City Adzmini.strator <br />r� <br />
