About one-third of the Luce Line Trail users urge better trail maintenance <br />in the future. <br />Seventy-three percent of the households in the city report members use Lake Minnetonka for <br />recreational purposes. Fifty-two percent swim there; sixty-seven percent boats there. Forty-five <br />percent of the households contain golfers. Among golfing households, 69% golf on the Orono <br />Golf Course. Eighty-six percent rate the golf course favorably, while only 12% are more critical. <br />A similar evaluation is posted on the condition and maintenance of the Orono Golf Course. The <br />principal reason golfers do not use the course is its "hilliness." Turning to a different season, <br />28% of Orono households report members go sledding or skiing on the Orono Golf Course. <br />Forty-eight percent think it is at least "somewhat important' to have a system if local trails or <br />sidewalks that connect their neighborhood to a regional recreational trail, such as the Luce Line <br />Trail or the planned Dakota Rail Trail; twenty-two percent see it as "very important." Only <br />seven percent of the sample says their neighborhoods have sidewalks. Among those living in <br />areas without sidewalks oppose the construction of sidewalks in their neighborhoods. Fifty-four <br />percent also think it is either "very likely" or "somewhat likely" members of their household will <br />use Big Island Park. <br />93 <br />
