Orono residents were asked a series on parks and recreation issues. First, recreational <br />preferences among passive and active pursuits were established. Information sources were <br />considered next. The adequacy of the parks and recreational facilities was reviewed in detail. <br />The use of the Lake, the Orono Golf Course, and Big Island Park were considered. Finally, trails <br />and sidewalks were discussed. <br />Recreational Activities <br />Respondents were instructed: <br />I would like to read you a list of recreational activities. <br />For each one, tell me how often you and other mem- <br />bers of your household engage in that activity. Do you <br />or any members of your household engage in that <br />activity, weather and season permitting: almost daily, <br />weekly, several times each month, monthly, several <br />times each year, or never.
