Orono residents were asked a series of questions about their sources of information in the <br />community. First, information levels about Orono City Government were established. Then, the <br />use and impact of various sources of information were tested. The job the City is doing in <br />communications was evaluated. And, finally, the best ways to obtain information from residents <br />about the updating of the comprehensive plan were determined. <br />Current Level of <br />Information <br />Orono respondents were asked: <br />How would you rate your current level of information <br />about Orono City Government and its activities -- very <br />informed, somewhat informed, not too informed, or not <br />at all informed? <br />A comparatively high 72% are at least "somewhat informed" about City Government and its <br />activities: <br />VERY INFORMED ................................. 15% <br />SOMEWHAT INFORMED ........................... 57% <br />NOT TOO INFORMED.............................21% <br />NOT AT ALL INFORMED ............................ 6% <br />DON'T KNOW/REFUSED ............................ 0% <br />Twenty-seven percent report lower levels of information. <br />"Informed" is posted at a higher rate by: <br />• those rating the quality of life as excellent <br />"Not informed" is cited more often by: <br />• those rating the quality of life as good or lower <br />108 <br />
