Also present; Charles Lefevre, Counsel; <br />Bene Stroaaen, Executive Director. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />LMCD Chair JoEllen Hurr convened a Public Hearing at 7:30 A. M. on April B, 19B9 <br />to consider the application o( Minnetonka Boat Works, Inc., Orono Tor a Special <br />Density Ferait and new dock license to increase its Boat Storage Units (BSU) <br />Troa BSU to 47 BSU on Brown's Bay and Troa 25 BSU to 61 BSU on Tanager Lake, <br />aore than aeeting the 1:10 rule under the LMCD rule at 1:30. <br />Byron Heiaark and Beth Whittaker were present to represent the <br />subcitted the Tollowing Public and Environaental aaenities: <br />applicant and <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />B. <br />Public Pishing Pier <br />Liaited nuaber of Parking Spaces for the Fishing Pier <br />One (1) Auto Look-Out, to overlook the Lake <br />Provide waste containers and disposal of the waste for Fishing Pier <br />Provide Public Restrooa Facilities <br />Provide one (1) slip for the Water Patrol to use for eaergency pur­ <br />poses. <br />Satisfy drainage requireaents of the aunicipality <br />Satisfy green screening and vegetation cover per the City of Orono s <br />Ordinance. <br />Jaaes Walker, property owne'’ southwest of the subject property on Tanager Lake, <br />expressed concern about additional traffic on Tanager Lake, problees with <br />excessive speed by boats passing through the narrow channe’, high level of water <br />skiing, safety and related accident potentials. Walker asked for assurance <br />that there would be no fishing boat rentals. The last dock near the channel <br />entrance creates a hazard. Mrs. Walker stated her biggest concern is <br />tripling the nuaber of slips. <br />D15CUEEI0N <br />1. The Public fishing pier location has not been determined. <br />2. There would possibly be 10 parking spaces reserved for those fishing. <br />3, The Auto Look-Out would have tiae-liaited parking <br />4, Heiaark expressed willingness to change the position of the end slip at <br />the channel entranc' to allow safe separation from the charnel.
