AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: April 14, 2025 <br />Title: Security Camera Upgrade <br />Presenter: Correy Farniok, Police Chief <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Item: 8 <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this action item is to enhance safety, to improve monitoring capabilities through <br />the installation and upgrade of exterior security cameras on city property. <br />2. Background: <br />The current camera system is more than 12 years old and some on the camera are needed to be <br />replaced/upgraded. We have also identified areas that have insufficient coverage. <br />The system improvements include the replacement of 8 existing cameras, the installation of 2 <br />additional cameras and upgraded hardware/software to run the security system. <br />3. Cost: <br />The estimated cost of the project is $9,963.00, which includes the cost of the cameras, operating <br />system, installation and labor. Further add-ons, updates to the project and/or labor are not to <br />exceed the total budgeted CIP cost of $50,000, of which $30,600 was previously approved at the <br />February 10, 2025 meeting. <br />4. Funding: <br />This project was identified and approved in the 2025 Capital Improvement Plan. The funding <br />sources for this project will be from the Police Forfeitures (Treasury Funds). <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />It is recommended that the council approve the proposed security camera upgrade project and <br />allocate the necessary funds from the police forfeiture account. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />The Council to approve the proposed security camera upgrade project and allocate the necessary funds <br />from the police forfeiture account. <br />Exhibits <br />A.
