Pfeilsticker, 1830 Lakeview Terrace - <br />Home Occupation License <br />Pertinent Ordinance - S 10.20, Subdivision 4 (C) <br />Mr. Dale Pfeilsticker of 1830 Lakeview Terrace is asking the City for <br />a home occupation license at the above subject property. The home <br />occupation consist of a custom small engine machine shop. Which serves <br />snowmobiles, motorcycles, outboard motors, cylinder sleeving, boring, <br />custom performance, engine and crank shaft rebuilding. Dealing with <br />dealers and mail order customers. This business also offers pickup and <br />delivery service to local dealers. Mr. Pfeilsticker is confined to a wheel <br />chair, thus working out of his home makes it much easier for him to operate <br />his business. Mr. Pfeilsticker also employs James Sundean as a part-time <br />assistant. Mr. Sundean does not reside at this address but does reside in <br />the neighborhood. Mr. Pfeilsticker states that Mr. Sundean adds great <br />value to the business and is extremely important. Mr. Sundean has worked <br />for the operation for 15+ years, and is also a handicapped person. This <br />one specific phase of the operation does not satisfy code standard "when <br />there is no employed assistant". Mr. Pfeilsticker asks for special <br />consideration on this matter. <br />Staff Recommendation - <br />Staff recommends approval of the home occupation license based on the <br />following findings: <br />1. The home operated business has been going on for 15 years and we <br />have received no complaints in the immediate neighborhood. <br />2. That the applicant is handicapped and this home occupation allows <br />him to operate his business. <br />3. A fire inspection was conducted on 4/18/89 and no violations were <br />found. <br />4. That employee is from immediate neighborhood and is also <br />handicapped. <br />Staff Recommendation - <br />Staff recommendation subject to the following; <br />1. No commercial signs be constructed or pern-'^t ’ted in the <br />residential zone. <br />2. No excessive stock in trade may be stored on the premises.
