RESOLUTION #495 <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTERSECTION <br />OF OLD CRYSTAL BAY.ROAD AND STATE HIGHWAY #12 <br />• AS A DANGEROUS INTERSECTION <br />The Orono Village Council being concerned about the <br />safety and welfare of its citzens and, <br />WHEREAS, the safety of our school children whether they <br />are riding a bus or having to walk across street intersection, and <br />WHEREAS, the peak flow of traffic on Old Crystal Bay Road <br />and Highway #12 intersection must be controlled and, <br />WHEREAS, traffic is increasing as shown by the State's own <br />count, and <br />WHEREAS, the visibility to the west of the intersection of <br />Old Crystal Bay Road and Highway #12 is very limited and it is difficult <br />to see on -coming traffic, and <br />WHEREAS, parents of school children who attend the Orono <br />schools have expressed concern about the hazards of the intersection, and <br />WHEREAS, the owner and drivers of the school buses themselves <br />have reported the dangerous conditions that exist at the interesection, <br />and <br />• WHEREAS, the Orono School Board and the Orono Village Council <br />have tried for years to get a stop light at Old Crystal Bay Road and <br />Highway #12, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of <br />the Village of Orono hereby declares the intersection of Old Crystal Bay <br />Road and Highway #12 as a dangerous intersection and requests that the <br />State Highway Department install a four-way stop light at this inter- <br />section as an exception to the State's Warrent Program. <br />Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota, at <br />a regUI ----- - y - -- -1 -3 TR--- 7 A I r%" <br />Attest <br />• <br />
