RESOLUTION #488 <br />• A RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO THE MINNESOTA SENATE BILL #410 <br />WHEREAS, the Council feels that the entire cost of welfare should be <br />borne by the State. and <br />WHEREAS, the Council feels that if a division of welfare is made on <br />a County basis, that any attempt to establish a 100% equalization <br />fails to recognize the amount of dollar's that a welfare receipent <br />will spend -in the commercial areas of the core cities, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council feels that Senate Bill #410 isa piecemeal effort <br />to settle overall inequities both pro and con that exist between the <br />core cities and the suburbs, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council feels that any further attempt to centralize the <br />administration of welfare programs will depersonalize the service and <br />the Village of Orono does not wish to see the Hennepin County Relief <br />Board eliminated or altered. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village <br />of Orono is opposed to Minnesota Senate Bill #410. <br />Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono,Minnesota at <br />a regular meeting held March 12, 1973. <br />Louis er auser, Mayor <br />- <br />Attest: <br />ames os y, Cler ministrator <br />
