Draft Ordinance - Revised <br />ISSUE - Presentation of introductory remarks regarding the zoning <br />amendment to implement the Comprehensive Plan Study. <br />INTRODUCTION - At the Council's May 23, 1988 Council meeting^the <br />City had engaged John Shard low to undertake the development of an <br />ordinance to implement the city's Comprehensive Management Plan. <br />The original draft was presented to the Council as Attachment A, <br />and was initially heard by the Planning Commission at their <br />meeting on July 18, 1988 and on a 3 to 2 vote adopted by the <br />Commission at their September 19, 1983 meeting. <br />DISCUSSION - The new draft of the zoning amendment is pres^ented <br />for your consideration at this time, as John Shardlow will be <br />able to be present to indicate concerns the Planning Commission <br />had and how they have been addressed together with being <br />available for any questions you, as a Council, may have regarding <br />the introduction. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Adopt the ordinance as presented. <br />2. Amend and adopt. <br />3. Table for further discussion. <br />4. Take no action. <br />RECOMMENDATION - As the document is fairly extensive and ia a <br />significant polllcy item the staff recommends that this be tabled <br />for a minimum of two weeks in order to allow the Council to more <br />fully study the matter, to discuss any further concerns or <br />they have with it and that it then be taken for action at either <br />the October 24 or November 14th meeting. (At present the R«.^ers <br />plan, while following the guidelines contained in toe ordinance, <br />is actually proceeding under the current set of ordinances.; <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , seconded by , that the Council <br />table the matter until at least October 24, 1988.
