A RBSOLOTION 6RAMTIIIG <br />A CONDTIONAL USB PERMIT <br />PER MUHICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.31f SUBDIVISION 3 (D) <br />PILE #1385 <br />WHEREAS# Edward S. Morrow, Chairman of the Board of Governors, <br />Big Island Veterans* Camp, (hereinafter "the applicant") has an interePt in <br />the property located on Big Island per Orono classification Record Lot 1 <br />within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as <br />followsi <br />Exhibit A, attached. <br />WHEREAS# the applicant has applied to the City of Orono for a <br />Conditional Use Permit to allow overnight camping proposed at 30 camp <br />sites at a maximum user level of 120 per daj based on the standard of 4 <br />guests per tent. <br />Minnesota: <br />HOW# THEREFORE# BE IT RESOLVED oy the City Council of Orono# <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning ^lle #1385. <br />2. The property is located in the RS Seasonal Recreational Zoning <br />District, per Section 10.31, Subdivision 3 (D.' 1. 30 tent camp sites <br />will require 15 acres in area, the day recreavion use at a 240 user <br />level requires 12 acres in area. The property consists of <br />approximately 57 acres in area. <br />3. On March 20, 1989, the Orono Planning Commission reviewed the <br />and recommended approval based on theapplication as proposed <br />following findings: <br />A) The 57'(‘ acre site is large enough to support a day use <br />recreation area and overnight camping use without any adverse <br />affect upon the lake or upon the adjacent wetlands that are <br />located within,the subject property. <br />3) The proposed use will have no negative impact upon the <br />neighboring adjacent properties. <br />Page 1 of 6
