r - <br />(Resolution #445, continued) <br />Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota at a <br />regular meeting held May 22, 1972, by a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Louis B. 0 erhauser,-Mayor <br />Attest: <br />Ralph artin, Clerk -Administrator <br />RESOLUTION #446 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCEPT OF <br />BIG ISLAND AS A PUBLIC PARK - <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Village of Orono that it is in the public interest <br />of the citizens of Orono that "Big Island" become a public park. <br />It is acknowledged that public sewer is not available to serve the <br />existing homes on Big Island and due to various reasons it is improbable <br />that public sewer will ever be available, and <br />FURTHER, it is acknowledged that the provision of public services including <br />police and*fire protection, street reg_air, snow removal, inspection and <br />other normal municipal services are difficult, uneconomical and virtually <br />impossible to provide to.residential property located on Big Island. <br />THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village of Orono. <br />deems that the long range highest and best use of Big Island is for <br />park purposes. <br />The Village of Orono acknowledges that the park should be administered <br />by an agency with county -wide responsibility and would approve of its <br />management by Hennepin County Park Reserve District. <br />Adopted by the Village Council of the Village of Orono, Minnesota at a <br />regular meeting held May.22, 1972. <br />Louis B. 0 er auser, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />Ralph artin, Clerk -Administrator <br />RESOLUTION #447 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br />THE IMPROVEMENT OF HIGHWAY NUMBER 12 <br />At a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of <br />Orono duly held on the 22nd day of May, 1972, the following resolution <br />was offered by Councilman Butler, seconded, by Councilman McCarthy, to -wit: <br />
