Chairman Kelley felt aa <br />he has stated at previous meetings, that this area <br />should be left as-is, a 2*acre residential area with no <br />MUSA line extension. <br />Taylor agreed with Chairman Kelley's opinion noting that <br />there have been no formal requests by any of the current <br />property owners to change Area 1. <br />Ballowa stated that previously s.ie has agreed with <br />Kelley and Taylor's opinion, but now has concerns with <br />NnDoT's future plans for 394 extension westward. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained that the <br />Willmar Chamber of Commerce has initiated a request to <br />extend the freeway from Wayzata to Willmar and possibly <br />eventually to the State line. MnDot has indicated that <br />they do not anticipate anything happening and there is <br />no funding available for an extension in the forseeablo <br />future. <br />Taylor and Cohen folt that consideration of a future 394 <br />extension was too far away to include in this planning <br />study. <br />Planning Commission recommendation* no changes in Area <br />17 <br />Regarding Area 2, Chairman Kelley felt a service road <br />should be put in at an undetermined location. <br />Planning Commission concurred with Chairman Kelley's <br />opinion. <br />Planning Commission reccmmendation* service road be <br />installed at some location in Area 2 to support the <br />traffic and eliminate the existing traffic hazards. <br />Chairman Kelley reviewed Area 3 noting that it is <br />currently part of the MUSA line. He reconnended that a <br />portion of Area 3 along Highway 12 should be denignated <br />non* residential and recommended that the wetlands act <br />as the natural barrier between the residential and non- <br />residential. <br />3 <br />■ i•r.I
