Date: March 17, 2025 Item: 5.2 <br />Presenter: Matt Karney, Planner <br />Section: Public Hearings <br /> <br />Title: LA25-000009, Midco, 3245 Wayzata Boulevard West, Interim Use Permit <br />(Matthew Karney) <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The applicant requests an Interim Use Permit (IUP) for equipment storage and staging associated with a utility <br />project in public rights-of-way. <br />2.MN§15.99 Application Deadline: <br />The application was made on February 18, 2025 and deemed complete on February 28, 2025. <br />Following the 60-day review period this application expires on April 29, 2025. <br />3.Background: <br />The applicant requests an Interim Use Permit to utilize an approximately 5-acre portion of a 25.8-acre parcel at <br />3245 Wayzata Boulevard West for staging and storage to support a utility fiber project in public rights-of-way <br />in the City of Orono. The applicant requests the duration of the IUP to run through the end of December 2026. <br />4.Public Comment: <br />No public comments have been received. <br />5.Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of the Interim Use Permit for equipment storage and staging <br />associated with <br />a utility project in public rights-of-way, subject to the following conditions: <br />1. The interim use permit will be active until the end of December 2026, as requested by the <br />applicant. <br />2.
