State of Minnesota/Department of Public Safety <br />ISSUE - Determination as to whether Council desires to enter into <br />"Oie agreement enclosed in Attachment A in order to receive <br />initially a "free" Alco Sensor and possibly up to 5. <br />INTRODUCTION - The device the State is proposing to "^end" to the <br />City is used as a preliminary test carried in squads for a "pre­ <br />screening" of possible DWI suspects when an officer has stopped <br />i:hero. The City currently owns 1 with 2 on order. This "loan" <br />would bring the total to 4. It would be helpful to have one <br />available for each squad. Each unit costs about $400.00. <br />ALTERNATIVE <br />1. Adopt the resolution and agreement. <br />2. Choose not to adopt. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the Council adopt the <br />attached agreement and resolution. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by _, seconded by _, that Council <br />approve the agreement between the City and the State of Minnesota <br />which authorizes the lending of Alco Sensors additionally Council <br />adopts Resolution #_ authorizing such agreement.
