CITY OF ORONO RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL NO. 7569 A RESOLUTION GRANTING AN EXTENSION TO RPUD MASTER DEVELOPMENT PLAN APPROVAL FOR ORONO APARTMENTS PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT NO. 17 (LA20-000001) FILE NO. LA25-000008 WHEREAS, the City of Orono (hereinafter the "City") is a municipal corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono (hereinafter "City Council") adopted land development regulations for the orderly, economic and safe development of land within the City; and WHEREAS, Orono Apartments LLC is the owner (hereinafter the "Owner") of the property at 2745 Kelley Parkway, legally described at Lot 1, Block 2, City of Orono Addition (hereinafter the "Property"); and WHEREAS, the City Council granted a Master Development Plan approval, LA20-000001, for the proposed 56 unit apartment building via Resolution 7085, which had an original expiration date of April 13, 2021; and WHEREAS, City Staff granted a one year extension until April 13, 2022; and WHEREAS, on January 7, 2022, the City Council granted the Owner's second request for an extension to April 13, 2023; and WHEREAS, on March 21, 2023, the City Council granted the Owner's third request for an extension to April 13, 2024; and WHEREAS, on March 11, 2024, due to issues related to supply chain of material and financing, the Owner request a fourth Master Development Plan approval extension to April 13, 2025. WHEREAS, on March 10, 2025, the City Council granted the Owner's fifth request for an extension to April 13, 2026; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Orono does hereby grant a 4rd extension for Master Development Plan Approval for PUD No. 17, to expire April 13, 2026 unless a building permit has been obtained.
