AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: March 10, 2025 <br />Title: Park Commission Appointments - Resolution 7571 <br />Presenter: Joe Ruthenberg, Superintendent - Parks, Facilities <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this action item is to make appointments to the Park Commission. <br />Item: 8 <br />2. Background: <br />City Code Section 22.32 stipulates the Park Commission is composed of seven members, who <br />serve staggered three-year terms. The council may, by majority, vote to appoint one or more <br />alternate park commission members to serve when regular members are absent. Currently there are <br />four (4) opening positions when commission members terms expired on March 1, 2025. <br />3. Summary: <br />The City Council has conducted interviews of 4 applicants for the commission. Council directed <br />staff to draft a resolution to appoint all 4 interviewees as regular commissioners and to re -appoint <br />current commissioner Rick Carter as an alternate. <br />4. All four new <br />candidates were interviewed by the Council at the February 24 Council Work Session.
