AGENDA ITEM Date: March 10, 2025 Title: Park Commission Appointments - Resolution 7571 Presenter: Joe Ruthenberg, Superintendent - Parks, Facilities Section: Consent Agenda Purpose: The purpose of this action item is to make appointments to the Park Commission. Item: 8 2. Background: City Code Section 22.32 stipulates the Park Commission is composed of seven members, who serve staggered three-year terms. The council may, by majority, vote to appoint one or more alternate park commission members to serve when regular members are absent. Currently there are four (4) opening positions when commission members terms expired on March 1, 2025. 3. Summary: The City Council has conducted interviews of 4 applicants for the commission. Council directed staff to draft a resolution to appoint all 4 interviewees as regular commissioners and to re -appoint current commissioner Rick Carter as an alternate. 4. All four new candidates were interviewed by the Council at the February 24 Council Work Session.
