AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: March 10, 2025 <br />Title: Election Judges and Absentee Ballot Board - Resolution 7572 <br />Presenter: Christine Lusian, City Clerk <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Item: 5 <br />Purpose: <br />State law requires advance appointment of election judges and the establishment of an absentee <br />ballot board. <br />2. Background: <br />Election judges will assist voters at the polling places on election day, May 13. The absentee <br />ballot board will work at City Hall accepting and rejecting ballots during the absentee voting <br />period prior to election day, March 28 through May 13. <br />3. Cost: <br />The hourly pay for an election judge is $15.25, absentee judge $16.25, and head judge $17.25. The <br />expenses for election workers is not a budgeted item for 2025 and an estimated $7,550 will be <br />expended from the general fund. <br />4. Staff Recommendation: <br />Appoint election judges and establish an absentee ballot board. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to adopt resolution 7572 appointing election judges and establishing an absentee ballot board. <br />Exhibits <br />A.
