As * a samples were obtained in the field, they were <br />visually and manually classified by the crew chief in accordance <br />with ASTH D’-2487 and D-2488. Representative portions of the <br />samples were then returned to the laboratory for further <br />examination, testing and verification of field classification. <br />Detailed soil descriptions together with results of field and <br />laboratory testing are given on the Borehole Logs. The capital <br />letters represent the appropriate group symbols of the Unified <br />Soil Classification System. A chart explaining this system 1e <br />appended.
