Box 86 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />RB: OUR CASE FILE NO. 90-7616 <br />Dear Mel: <br />I would like to tak# this opportunity on behalf of the Public Safety <br />Departaent to thank you, and specifically, Lt. Marc Pritzler for the <br />eeeistance that he rendered to Officer Mutchler on September 30, 1990. <br />Officer Mutchler had received information of tn« clerk at the Speedy <br />Market writing a note requesting a passer-by to rail 911. It was un <br />known as to the nature of the problem, and later it was learned that <br />several carloads of "gypsies” had Invaded the store and were In the <br />process of attempting to shoplift various items within the store. <br />Officer Mutchler observed one of the suspect vehicles leaving the <br />scene In pursuit of same to approximately the 6000 block of Highway <br />12. Traffic stop was made at that location, and he encountered three <br />Individuals and was shortly thereafter backed up by Lt. Prltzler who <br />was off-duty ^nd several blocks away from the scene of the Incident, <br />tt. Frltzler assisted Officer Mutchler In containment and detention of <br />the parties which led to sufficient probably cause to Initiate an ar <br />rest In conjunction with the shoplifting Incident. <br />The combined efforts of the officers resulted In a felony arrest and <br />indletaent of one individual, the pending Indictment of perhaps two <br />additional persons, and the recovery of various merchandise that had <br />been stolen In various cities dotting our map all th ^»ay from the <br />Mlsconsln border to the Twin cities Area. <br />It Is cooperation such as this and extra effort put forth by Lt. <br />Prltzler that makes our Cv^tmblned law enforcement endeavors so effec* <br />tlve.
