City of Orono h2s alrssdy chanc6d the dafini-ion Oi. a <br />private road contained in its nunicipal code. Section 6.01 of <br />the Orono Municipal Code originally read, <br />Subd. 2. "Private Road" neans any street or roadway <br />which has not been dedicated to public use or which <br />is not maintained by public funds, but which is open <br />to travel pursuant to an easement between persons or <br />between persons and the City. Private roads are <br />private property except as regulaced in this Chapter <br />is <br />the <br />City of Orono Municipal Code, S 6.01, subd. 2. <br />On July 25, 1988, the Orono City Council amended the <br />definition of the term "private road". The new derinition <br />similar to the old definition in all respects, except that <br />underlined language in the above quoted passage has been ■ <br />deleted. The Orono City Council could again amend S <br />subd. 2 to include an addendum sentence which reads, A1-. <br />private roads must be open to all people who own homes on <br />road and their invitees and to all people and their invitees who <br />could reasonably be expected to use that roac to get to uheir <br />private residences." <br />ZSRP718 <br />1-5
